The new version of the integrated 3D CAD/CAM system, CADmeister 2024

UEL Corporation (UEL) has officially introduced the new version of its integrated 3D CAD/CAM system, CADmeister 2024.
To digitalize collaboration between companies and departments, UEL has developed functions that enhance automation and efficiency in mold manufacturing processes while promoting the use of 3D data.

The advanced CAM functionality supports high-speed, high-quality, and efficient machining, helping to improve productivity through automation. With dedicated mold design functions, trials and errors are minimized, designers’ complex tasks are simplified, and efficiency is enhanced through intuitive operations. These improvements create an environment where customers can optimize the use of 3D data—from design to production.

CADmeister 2024 has been enhanced mainly with the following four key improvements:

1. Automation and Efficiency Improvements

• Enhanced curved surface machining functions: Machining data generation has been upgraded to achieve high-speed, high-quality, and high-efficiency machining. Tool paths maintain consistent stepovers along surfaces and equal spacing, ensuring uniform cusp height (the height of ridges left during cutting), reducing finishing time, and improving work efficiency.

• Electrode machining: Automation of machining data creation for electrode models required in mold production. By simply specifying the model file and processing template, the system automatically generates machining instructions and non-interfering NC data.

• On-machine measurement: Using the machining tool handle, coordinate values can be output to a text file via macro output, reducing measurement time.

2. Improved Initial Quality

• Enhanced change detection function: Accuracy in detecting thick parts has been improved. Filtering settings allow users to hide detection results for small surfaces and display shaded measurement values for better visibility, making it easier to identify problematic areas.

• Press Nesting function: Provides more efficient layout of mold parts, minimizing material waste and maximizing resource efficiency. This increases precision while reducing labor time.

• Automated 3D inspection charts: Integration with Excel automates inspection charts, boosting efficiency by up to 90%. The steel dimensions of 3D data can be automatically measured and compared against the dimensions in the bill of materials.

3. 3D Utilization

• Step-section view function: Provides step-section views via the view creation command, making it easier to convey information through 3D data and speeding up data delivery for subsequent tasks.

4. Intuitive Operation and Enhanced Usability

• User-friendly input features: These intuitive functions reduce trial and error while quickly reflecting design requirements in the final shape. The trajectory input function allows users to select a 3D model and handle more complex components.
